| Lower taxes will contribute to a bigger economy and larger revenues. These greater revenues, taxed at lower rates, will result in a greater quantity of money flowing into the state treasury. | |||

| I am a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment and believe citizens who are not felons or below 18 should be able to own firearms. If those citizens pass a qualifying course of instruction regarding laws pertaining to concealed carry and pass a course of fire, the states should issue a concealed permit. Laws should be made acknowledging the facts surrounding the private ownership of firearms, that criminals will not obey gun laws and that where guns are in the hands of citizens crime is reduced. | |||

| I do not believe the government has the right to require citizens to buy health insurance. Health insurance is not a right but I believe there is a place for government to care for the most vulnerable of its citizens. There should be more competition amongst the insurance companies and the public should be able to buy insurance across state lines and to buy insurance products tailored to the consumer's individual needs. | |||

| The first priority should be establishing a business friendly environment in California. A more vibrant economy brought on by lower taxes and fewer regulations would cure many of the problems facing California. A second and related priority is the long term solution to California's water needs. We need more storage and conveyance to get water to where it is needed. I believe conflicts between environmental concerns and the needs of agriculture and the public can be overcome. Third, we need to restore California's education system to the best in the world. No tenure and lessened union influence in education. |
